Baggage Systems
Chicago-O'Hare's Terminal 5 Vanderlande baggage handling conveyor system is designed so that baggage will be conveyed to the Explosive Detection System (EDS) zone. As the bag enters the EDS area, the sorter control system will automatically direct the bag to the next available Invision machine for in-line baggage screening. Cleared bags are then routed and inducted to the existing baggage handling system for delivery to the outbound flight makeup area.
Battery Chargers
Electric Ground Support Equipment GSE needs are supported by Hawker and PosiCharge units on the apron all throughout terminal gates.
Ground Power
Dabico, a specialist in power conversion equipment for aircraft, offers a comprehensive range of 400Hz systems for all of our Chicago-O'Hare Terminal 5 passenger boarding bridges.
Passenger Bridges
The 35 passenger boarding bridges at Chicago-O'Hare's International Terminal 5 were manufactured by TK Airport Solutions, Inc. spanning over the years from 2020 through 2024.
Potable Water Cabinets
Chicago-O'Hare International Terminal 5's Potable Water Cabinets feature rugged stainless steel construction and high polish finish guarantee long life, and the easy-to-clean design promotes sanitary conditions. All of our Semler Potable Water Cabinets are listed, tested quarterly, and marked by a Nationally recognized Testing Laboratory and certified UL and CSA standards.
Pre-Conditioned Air Units
Terminal PCA units have been, and will remain, prepared to continue working sub freeze Pre-Conditioned Air Units (PCA's). Terminal PCA systems are capable of cooling absolutely all types of aircraft, including Code-F A380 super-jumbo jets.
